Why Religa?
Religa is named in honor of Professor Zbigniew Religa, a pioneering cardiac surgeon whose work embodied the highest ideals of medicine: perseverance, responsibility, and service to others.
In 1987, a photograph captured Prof. Religa sitting beside his patient after a 23-hour heart transplant—exhausted, watchful, and unwavering. The image became iconic not because of technology, but because it showed what medicine is truly about: commitment to the person on the table, long after the procedure is over.
We chose the name Religa because the medical device field is built on that same principle. Behind every device, system, or innovation is a human being whose life may depend on it—and a professional who must be prepared, trained, and accountable.
Religa was founded to help people enter and succeed in the medical device industry by honoring that legacy. We believe that this field is not just about products, regulations, or engineering—it is about people who choose responsibility, who learn continuously, and who understand the weight of the work they do.
Just as Prof. Religa helped build a future for cardiac surgery through discipline and dedication, Religa exists to help build the next generation of medical device professionals—grounded in purpose, integrity, and care.
Religa is a reminder that progress in medicine begins with people.
